American Integrity Insurance vs Tower Hill Insurance
American Integrity is a public insurer favoring newer, high-value homes; Tower Hill is a family-run Florida reciprocal that also writes rentals and mobile homes
Verdict
Both are Florida specialists that sell only through agents, both carry Demotech A (Exceptional) ratings and a KBRA BBB+ on the Florida carrier, and both are mostly Florida business: in the 2025 NAIC data, Tower Hill was Florida's 8th-largest homeowners group (4.78% of premiums) and American Integrity the 10th (3.13%). The difference is how each is built and which homes each prefers.
American Integrity is a stock company owned by American Integrity Insurance Group, Inc., listed on the NYSE (AII) since May 2025. It was founded in 2006 and writes in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and, since January 2026, North Carolina. Its Georgia and North Carolina pages emphasize newer homes, and it raised its maximum insured value to $15 million in May 2026. Tower Hill dates to 1972, is controlled by the Shively family, and writes Florida policies through Tower Hill Insurance Exchange, a policyholder-owned reciprocal. Each exchange policy carries a subscriber surplus contribution of 10% of annual premium, which the attorney-in-fact may later reduce or eliminate. Tower Hill Prime writes in nine southern states, much of it through Tower Hill Specialty for rentals, seasonal, vacant and manufactured homes.
The coverage details also split. American Integrity sells ValueGuard, a fire-and-wind policy for owners who would otherwise self-insure, plus a private flood endorsement with no waiting period. Tower Hill's private flood allows building limits up to $5 million with a 7-day waiting period, and its hurricane deductible applies once per calendar year. Neither profile spells out roof settlement terms; ask both.
Choose American Integrity if
- Your home is newer or high-value (its Florida high-value program covers $750,000 to $10 million, with up to $15 million total insured value on HO-3 and DP-3).
- You want private flood on the same policy, with no waiting period, or you are considering a cheaper fire-and-wind policy like ValueGuard and have read which perils it omits.
- You live in Georgia or the Carolinas, or you want a stock company with no subscriber contribution.
- You prefer a carrier growing through voluntary business (about 43,000 new voluntary policies in the second quarter of 2026) rather than Citizens takeouts, which fell from 16,632 in the first quarter of 2025 to 81 in the second quarter of 2026.
Choose Tower Hill if
- You own a rental, seasonal, vacant or manufactured home, which Tower Hill Specialty and its DP-1 and DP-3 forms are built to write.
- You want a carrier that has been in Florida since 1972 and is still family-controlled.
- You need private flood with building limits up to $5 million, and accept actual cash value settlement unless you choose replacement cost.
- You value contractor coordination: Tower Hill's CastleCare network works with the adjuster on repairs, and ClaimsPay pays by direct deposit, PayPal or Venmo.

Before you decide
Quote identical Coverage A, hurricane deductible and endorsements, and ask each agent whether the carrier is binding at your address, since both pause when a storm threatens. If you are quoting the exchange, ask how the subscriber surplus contribution works. reciprocal exchanges: how they work covers that structure, Demotech ratings and Florida's insurers covers what the Demotech and KBRA ratings mean, Roof payment schedules and ACV roof endorsements covers roof terms, and Private flood insurance vs the NFIP helps compare the flood options.
